Sidalcea 'Little Princess'
This beautiful, compact perennial is regarded as a miniature hollyhock. Sidalcea 'Little Princess' forms neat clumps of attractive, rounded and shallowly lobed, glossy mid-green leaves at the base, but it’s the flowers that we really want—and they are stunning. Flower spikes, between 30-60cm high, carry dense, silky, hollyhock-like, pale-pink blooms with fringed petals. And, magnificently, these saucer-shaped flowers are produced all summer long.
First grown 20 years ago, Sidalcea 'Little Princess' has stood the test of time. It thrives in a loose, humus-rich, sandy garden soil. It will be best in a position in full sun, but still gives a good account of itself when grown in part-shade. It is perfect for gardens with a cottage-like theme, or for modern garden schemes where it will combine with anything—but it will look especially good with other plants in the purple, pink or white colour ranges.
Fully hardy perennial Sidalcea 'Little Princess' ᴾᴮᴿ is also known as prairie mallow, and is related to the mallow and Lavatera family.
