Gloriosa 'Rothschildiana'
The truly glorious and extremely popular member of the Gloriosa superba lily family, the 'Rothschildiana' (or Flame lily), is part of the East African branch of this flower clan. The delicate lily flower with its generous brush strokes of bright red on a background of bright yellow, has petals which usually curl back as the flower drops its head and exposes green stamen with orange and green anthers. The Gloriosa lily is a climbing plant and can end up reaching close on 2 meters in height, but must be supported with a trellis against a wall, or given a safe climbing option like an obelisk if planted in the garden.
Gloriosa 'Rothschildiana' likes sunlight and ventilation but does need protection from the sun when it’s at its hottest.
