Dahlia 'Vassio Meggos'

Dahlia 'Vassio Meggos'

Measuring a whopping 18cm across, the rosy lavender pink flowers of Dahlia 'Vassio Meggos' make a real splash in the garden from July to October. Reaching up to 1.2m in height, Dahlia 'Vassio Meggos' is suitable for the middle to back of a border, where its big, generous blooms mix easily with a wide range of colour schemes. Our favourite is seeing it zing against rich orange tones; think the classic Dahlia 'Bishop of Oxford' and you’re along the right lines!

Like all dahlias, 'Vassio Meggos' is half-hardy and will need some form of protection from the cold and wet throughout most of the UK. If you have heavy soil or live somewhere prone to very cold winters, your best bet is to lift and store the Dahlia 'Vassio Meggos' tubers in a greenhouse or shed. If you garden on light, well-draining soil, or are in a milder area, you may get away with leaving them in the ground with a thick layer of mulch.
