Dahlia 'Edge of Joy'
Looking fresh and elegant, Dahlia 'Edge of Joy' is pleasingly adaptable. This relatively small single dahlia is a great height for containers and for popping into borders. It creates a lovely splash of colour with its fresh white petals edged in blackcurrant- purple, and a button of rich golden yellow in the centre really completes the look. Whilst it is a single flower, the petals are layered in a pretty halo around the middle, giving it an air of abundance without being overly fussy. Dahlia 'Edge of Joy' has a great habit too, with lush leafy deep green foliage framing the blooms, which are held on long, strong and upright stems.
Dahlia 'Edge of Joy' flowers generously from late summer into autumn, bringing joy not just to the gardener but also to pollinators, which flock to the open blooms. Its striking colour combination can be used to create some fabulous contrasts: flower arrangers love to mix it with white, pink and purple blooms. Dahlia 'Edge of Joy' also adds an element of freshness to the late summer garden, and makes a great focal point when placed in a pot on the patio or terrace. At around 65cm high, it’s just the right height and won’t need staking. It will perform excellently in a rich and well-draining compost mix in a sunny spot with regular watering.
