Anemone 'Levante® Blu'
To our way of thinking, Anemone 'Levante® Blu' produces the most intense purple-blue of any garden plant. Whether you see the flowers as indigo blue, or violet-purple, or something in between, you cannot deny that they are electrifying! Blooms are large, fully double, and they possess a darker central boss of stamens.
Anemone 'Levante® Blu' is one of the new strain of Italian-bred Levante® anemones. They will brighten patio pots, or the fronts of beds and borders in spring and summer. When they flower will depend on when the tubers were planted, but they could start as early as March, and continue as late as September. We suggest that you plant the little tubers (which look rather like dried-up pieces of bark) as soon as you receive them. If this is spring, the Anemone 'Levante® Blu' plants will be in flower in the summer. You can also plant these Anemones as late as autumn, for flowering next year (but do give them some winter protection).
The 20-30cm high flower stems are strong, ideal as cutting material for bouquets and indoor vase arrangements. They are known for possessing a very long vase-life, usually 10 days or more.
