When planted en masse, it produces a large carpet of soft pink across the ground. Look closely at a flower, and each cigar-shaped petal is two-thirds deep rose pink and one-third white. Then, in the centre of the bloom, sits a boss of bright yellow stamens. The overall effect is truly eye-catching. Not only that, but the flowers are long lasting, and if grown in semi-shade will last even longer!
This anemone is ideal for a naturalistic garden. Scatter the knobbly bulbs—which look decidedly dry and unpromising on arrival—at the front of the border, and plant them where they fall.
