Amaryllis 'Daphne'
Deep red, and utterly glorious! This is how Hippeastrum 'Daphne' has been described, and we agree. The flowers blend several different tints of deep pink, through the purple-reds and maroons to near-black in the centres. You’ll also find feint brushes of white on the tips of the petals. There is something rebellious and unusual about these flowers, which is difficult to describe—but Amaryllis 'Daphne' are luxuriant, eye-catching, and they’ll make a real talking point!
Each bulb of Hippeastrum 'Daphne' will produce two stems, reaching around 70cm in height. There will be three to four flowers on each stem: that’s six to eight flowers from one bulb. You won’t find many Hippeastrums that provide such a wealth of flower.
Don’t be fooled into thinking that Amaryllis 'Daphne' is just a flower for the Christmas period. Bulbs may be planted over many months, meaning that bloom can be had from December through to April—and even later.
